Generate a strong password instantly

Strength: Strong

Created on your device with your browser’s secure random generator. Never sent, never stored.

Why a random password beats the one you would invent

People are predictable. We pick names, birthdays, keyboard runs and a “1” or an “!” at the end, and password-cracking tools try those habits first. A truly random password has no pattern to guess, so the only way in is brute force: trying every combination.

This generator draws each character with your browser’s cryptographically secure random number generator. The password is built on your device and never leaves it.

  • Length does most of the work: every extra character multiplies the number of possibilities.
  • Mixing lowercase, uppercase, digits and symbols widens the pool each character is drawn from.
  • No two clicks give the same result, so generate as many as you need.

Generating is half the job: keep it where only you can open it

A strong password you cannot remember is useless if it ends up in a screenshot, on a sticky note or in a text file called “passwords”. Writing it down is fine, as long as the place it lives in is locked.

With Cofry on your phone, you can save the password you just generated in your private space, next to the documents, links and deadlines that matter. Cofry encrypts your data in transit and at rest, hosts it in the EU and isolates every account at the database layer.

  • Saved in your private Cofry space, not in a notes app or a screenshot.
  • Encrypted in transit and at rest, hosted in the EU.
  • On your phone when you need to sign in.

One unique password per account, no exceptions

When a website is breached, the leaked email and password pairs are tried on other services within hours. It is called credential stuffing, and it works because so many people reuse passwords. A unique password turns one breach into one problem instead of ten.

Generate a fresh password for every new account, and replace the old ones when you can. Start with the accounts that unlock the others: your email, your bank and your phone provider.

  • Email first: it resets every other account.
  • Then banking, taxes, health and shopping.
  • Change a password right away after any breach notice.

Locked behind Face ID and a PIN, even on your own phone

A phone can be lost, borrowed or picked up from a table. That is why Cofry adds its own lock on top of the phone’s: Face ID for quick, secure access, and a personal PIN as an extra layer.

What you save stays behind that lock, and each Cofry account is isolated from every other one, so no other account’s query can reach your data.

  • Face ID: quick, secure biometric access.
  • PIN: an extra layer that you choose.
  • Your account only: row-level isolation at the database.

Password generator: frequently asked questions

How does this password generator work?

It picks each character at random using your browser’s cryptographically secure random number generator, from the character sets you tick. The password is created on your device and is never sent to a server.

Is a generated password really safer than one I make up?

Yes. Passwords people invent follow habits (names, dates, patterns) that cracking tools try first. A random password has no pattern, so an attacker is left with brute force, which becomes impractical as the length grows.

How long should my password be?

Aim for at least 16 characters for important accounts, and more for your email, since it can reset everything else. Longer is better, and a password manager means you never have to remember it.

Does Cofry see or store the passwords I generate here?

No. This page runs entirely in your browser: nothing is sent or stored. A password is only stored if you choose to save it in the Cofry app, where it is encrypted in transit and at rest.

How do I save a generated password in Cofry?

Copy it with the button above, open Cofry on your phone and save it in your private space. Face ID and your PIN keep it locked.

Which phones does Cofry run on?

Cofry is built for iOS and Android. The Android app is available on Google Play now, and the iOS version is coming soon.
